San Rafael resident Ellie McCuskey-Hay, a freshman at St. Ignatius, stood on the podium Saturday in her first trip to the California Track and Field Championships, with the realization that gold could be within her reach next year. McCuskey-Hay finished second in the girls 100 meter dash with a personal-best time of 11.52 seconds, just a hair behind the winner, Niya Clayton of Oaks Christian, who finished in 11.45 seconds. A little later in the evening, San Domenico's Joaquin Foster ran the boys 800 in 1:55.
